Champion Lacrosse Teams

Try out at New Era Field on Sept. 17 for the 2018 Champion Lacrosse Teams

Why Try Out for Champion Lacrosse?

Our 2018 tryouts are set for Sept. 17 at the Buffalo Bills' New Era Field. Why should you be there?

Champion Lacrosse has built our program from the ground up based on an unmatched love for the game, unparalleled experience at the highest levels of lacrosse and a commitment to improving the sport in Western New York. Since our inaugural year in 2010, our dedicated coaching staff has improved the overall lacrosse IQ of hundreds of players and prepared a host of talented student-athletes for the rigors of the college game. We don't just pull together players from different cities for summer recruiting showcases; our players grow under the guidance of our coaching staff and our teams learn how to play together in a fun, constructive environment.

We make it a point that every player we coach improves his game based on goals we collaboratively set at the beginning of each season, thanks in large part to the year-round training we offer: (fall tournaments, winter indoor training, spring/summer practice and summer box lacrosse).

Who is coaching your son?

With more and more choices in club lacrosse, it has never been more important to choose a program with a good history on and off the field. Our coaches have played at the highest levels of the game (MLL, NLL, NCAA DI) and are continuing to increase their knowledge by living and breathing lacrosse. We have practice plans rather than just rolling out a ball, and we have positional coaches for every spot on the field. Our coaching staff is connected to college coaches because we've played with and against them: during college and currently as post-collegiate players as we continue to play the game we love.

We're also plugged into both the local and national lacrosse scenes by coaching high school in Section VI, bringing in some of the nation's top programs to our fall 3Nation Lacrosse Classic at the Bills' New Era Field and playing in elite summer and fall recruiting tournaments in the game's top hotbeds. There's a reason we can call an NFL stadium home for tryouts, preseason training camp and our fall international event - we're connected, experienced and we care about improving the WNY lacrosse scene.

Player Development

Our philosophy is to give our athletes the best knowledge of game so they are prepared for current competition and the future: whether that's high school or collegiately up to the highest levels of NCAA DI. The focus of our practice sessions is the individual fundamentals necessary to be successful at all positions and understanding team concepts of all parts of the game - the same lessons imparted by our sport's top college coaches. Skills such as shooting mechanics, dodging on the run, catching in traffic and defensive footwork are all done with maximum reps and led by the area's most experienced staff. We can confidently say our coaching staff rivals that of any club program in the country.
